Transportation from Yuma International Airport to Mexican Boarder/Algodones

13 miles (21 km) approximately 20 minute drive

The easiest and most convenient route to Dr. Dennis; you may even arrive early enough for your first evaluation!

When you land in Yuma, call one of the following cab services to drive you 20 minutes to the boarder. Yuma is a small airport so it doesn't take long to get there. For flight planning purposes try to arrive Yuma airport by noon because the boarder closes every day at 2PM, due to COVID precautions.

Transportation Options from San Diego Airport to Los Algodones Mexico

141 miles (227 km) / approximately 2.5 - 3 hour drive

Rent a car and drive to Yuma. If you arrive into San Diego early enough, you might make it cross the boarder before 2 PM. Driving and rushing to get across the boarder in time may create additional stress. You may need to stay overnight in Yuma.

If you fly into San Diego, it's doubtful you'll make it across the Mexican boarder in time, as closes every day at 2PM, , because of COVID, which means you'll need to get a room in Yuma, and call one of the services above to drive you to the boarder the next day.

199 miles (320 km) approximately 4 hours drive

Rent a car and drive to Yuma. If you arrive into Phoenix early enough, you might make it cross the boarder before 2 PM. Driving and rushing to get across the boarder in time may create additional stress. You may need to stay overnight in Yuma.

Taking a shuttle from Phoenix may be difficult to cross the boarder by 2PM, you may need to get a room in Yuma. If you consider $200 or more for the shuttle, and a room in Yuma, you may as well pay a bit extra, fly directly into Yuma, save yourself the time and frustration.

Fly directly into Yuma

Flying directly into Yuma is by far the fastest, easiest, less stressful, and possibly least expensive way to go, especially when you consider, the other two options make you rent a car, a bus, or a shuttle, and quite possibly an extra night.

If you must fly into San Diego or Phoenix

Renting a car at the airport and driving into Yuma will get you there sooner than a bus or a shuttle, but you still may not make it in time to cross the boarder so factor in an extra hotel room in Yuma just in case.

Crossing the Boarder

Sometimes mobile reception isn't reliable in that area, so if you need to talk to someone or you want to communicate with the clinic, make the call while driving away from the airport.

Once you arrive at the boarder your transportation service will not be driving you across; it's only about a four block walk to Dr. Dennis's clinic, so pack lite and no worries, you're just as safe there as anywhere!

You won't show your passport as you enter Mexico, but you will show it when you leave, so make sure you have it.
