Laser Whitening

It's time to drop the whitening trays, strips, brushes and other gimmicks—the answer to your yellowing teeth is...

Laser Teeth Whitening!

Laser Whitening Involves:

  • Putting bleach and hydrogen peroxide gel over teeth while protecting the gums and mouth with a dental dam.
  • shining a laser pen over the teeth to activate the bleaching process, resulting in amazing teeth whiteness.
  • The laser heats the oxygen process quickly, which is the part which breaks down layers of stains in your tooth's enamel

It's a quicker process than that of whitening trays because in just a few short sessions, a patient will visibly see whiter results faster than any other method.

We recommend that patients have their teeth whitened before having other dental procedures completed especially if we are doing crowns, dentures, bridges, or implants; as we will be choosing your permanent color at that time.

Materials used in dental restorations or cosmetic purposes are stain and bleach resistant.  For example, a dental crown won't stain or bleach but should maintain its initial coloring over time.

When a crown, veneer, bridge, or implant is created in a dental lab, they are created to match the shade of the surrounding teeth. If the surrounding teeth are yellow, the restorations will be created in a yellow shade to match.

How long does laser teeth whitening last?

You can expect laser whitening to last 6 months - 2 years, although some report results lasting up to 10 years. The length of time depends mainly on what you eat and drink and how you care for your teeth. Avoiding all foods that cause staining will help preserve your fresh white teeth like. Foods like: spaghetti sauce (marinara), ketchup, red wine, coffee, dark tea, smoking, or blueberries. If you're a coffee or tea drinker and you absolutely can't go without it, drink it through a straw. You may resume your a normal healthy diet, 24-72 hours after whitening. In the meantime avoid any foods that fail the “white shirt test" any food that would leave a visible stain on a white piece of clothing for the first 24 hours after whitening.

Laser whitening is the least sensitive of all whitening systems. Bleach trays and gels get all over your gums making your gums sore and sensitive. With laser your gums are protected during the procedure and your results are immediate!

Will the laser affect fillings, veneers, or crowns?

The reality is that no tooth whitening treatment – whether professionally applied at the dental office or used at home – works on tooth-colored fillings or crowns. Bleaching gels and products are only designed to lift stains off of natural tooth structures, not composite restorations.

How much does laser teeth whitening cost?

Laser teeth whitening in the U.S. costs anywhere from $400 to $1,500, because it's the fastest teeth whitening procedure on the market. However, laser whitening with Dr. Dennis costs nearly 1/4 of the lowest price.
